I cant open sf2 files
i try to download new sounds but the sf2 file cannot be opened. apparently i need to buy software that cost minimum $30. is there any freeware that can allow me to get new sounds?

You can get new sounds for free if you download a SF2 file and follow the instruction at : Soundfont .
Read it all and come back with a precise question if needed.
