Stem Direction

• Jul 4, 2015 - 17:06

I'm not sure if this is normal behavior but look at the stem direction in measures 29 and 30. It may have something to do with the third voice added to those two measures. Thanks for any input.

Exactly. As soon as you a measure has more than one voice, the default stem direction becomes voices 1 & 3 up, voices 2 & 4 down. If you would prefer the voice 1 stems in that measure to point down, just click the notes you want to flip and press "X" (or use the Inspector).

Also, FWIW, for the bass drum cue, using voice 4 would make more sense than using voice 3 in my opinion - I'd expect stems to be down in that voice. Then you wouldn't have needed to apply the negative offset either. That's how Edit / Tools / Toggle Rhythmic Slash Notation does things for you, so that all would have happened automatically. But either way works.
