Special character box - improvement

Can I suggest modifying the special character box so that the user can see what s/he is adding. Perhaps an "entry field" could be added underneath the characters. You double click the desired characters to be added which then appear in order in this "entry field." When finished you click on OK to close the window and transfer the character(s) to the text.

I have attached the "Open Office" special characters window to illustrate. You click on the characters. They appear after "character" at the bottom. Then you click OK to exit and add the characters.

Cancel the request. The user can already enter multiple characters in the text without closing the box, so no "entry field" is required – just an addition to the handbook.
