Hi Niels,

Your musescore.org account has now translator rights. You will find a new block in the right sidebar with links to the translation interface. Also, each page will now have a translate tab visible to you so you can translate untranslated pages.

You can find more information regarding the online translation workflow at http://musescore.org/en/node/1006#comment-1799

Welcome on board and don't hesitate to ask questions!

Edition 26,th of august: I think I may solved the problem. :-)

Hi Thomas,

I have made my first translation: the chapter in the handbook named "Clef"

I have saved my work, but it seemed still inactive on the danish page under "håndbog" (handbook)
I simply can't find it there..

How do I activate the chapter - and what did I do wrong?

I weighted the chapter "3" and saved is under "handbook".. I also selected "Outline".. but no result..

Thanks for your reply..

I am sorry, but I have got a new problem, and I can't really see the solution. Maybe its the way I am doing this..

When f.ex. a german page (Paletten in de/handbuch) has the same title as the title I would like to give to the danish page (Paletten in da/håndbog), the danish link is somehow overruled by the german link, and I cannot make the "Paletten-link" in the danish handbook point to the danish page.. It points whatever I do to the german version.

What do I do?

And by the way,,

I think that I need to do something about the structure of the danish handbook.. there exists kind of two versions: The first is in da/håndbog and the second is in da/håndbog/håndbog..

How to I registrate levels (parentpages)? Or better - were do I read more about this?

The bad link in case the title is the same is a known bug which appears when a Danish page is cached while the interface of the website is in a different language than Danish.

E.g.
http://musescore.org/en/node/1948 will return the bad links in case
http://musescore.org/da/node/1948 will be ok

Again, a page is being cached and only renewed after 1 hour normally.

More about the translation workflow: Translation instructions
About the outline: don't worry about it to much, we can make sure that all outlines are set ok all at once all the page are translated.

Hi make.

I'm working on it.. but there are som problems with caching of the danish pages in the danish handbook.. Only way to make it work is constantly editing and saving the mainpage... but this evening it feels like the systems gone crazy.. ;-) Somehow it won't update..

Choose "Dansk" in the right menu and then "Håndbog".. Then you will se the main page in danish.

The easiest way to translate the handbook is first by following the steps as described in translation instructions (see handbook part) and finally adjust the main handbook index to match the titles.

If you had issues with the handbook index page, it might have been your browser locally cached the page instead of refreshing it. Anyway, just keep it for the end.

Thanks!

YAHOO :-)

The handbook is now 100% translated to danish. It was a hard work (2 weeks), but worth it. I learned a lot about MuseScore, and now I'll start working on my new mini-musical.

Hi Niels,

Great work so far!

In order to make the Danish pdf handbook, we need a few more pages to be translated in Danish. These are not directly linked from the handbook page, but can be found by going to 'Website content' > 'Danish' in the right sidebar block 'Translate'.

Filter that list on book page and you'll see that there are around 8 (short) pages left to be translated. Once done, we can make a pdf from the complete handbook and offer it for download and include it in the software.

Thanks!

By the way..

I have one big wish... concerning chords..

I'll badly need the german/danish name of the chord B: H in jazzchords. I've searched in the english handbook about this subject, and can't find an answer concerning how to solve this.

Is there a way I can chance this myself? (change "B" to "H") "German style" in layout-preferences doesnt work.

Hi Thomas

Some of the mentioned pages to the danish handbook are outdated.. But how do I find the english updated version of the pages? When I go to Website content > Danish and filter to "Bookpage", I se two outdated pages.. When I go for editing, I can only see the contain of the outdated page... How do I see, whats updated in the english version and how do I best update the danish outdated pages?

The workflow for doing this is not so easy yet. There are two ways to do it.

1/ Place the original English one and the translation next to each other and check the differences.

Obviously this is not so easy.

2/ Go to the revisions tab of both the English one and the translated one. Check the last date when the translated one was adjusted. Use that date as the a lead to find that date in the original English revision list and pull up the 'diff'. The diff will show you what has been changed and you can incorporate the changes in the translated version.

Finally, when you have revised the translated version, don't forget to uncheck the 'This translation needs to be updated'.

If this is not clear, I can make a screencast for you.

Hi Thomas

I think that was it... or was it? It looks fine, but I am kind of unsure, if everything is as it has to be.

P.S. Please include my name: "Niels B. Overgaard" in the handbook :-)

Terrific work Niels! The print out from the complete book can be found here. I'll leave it up to lasconic or david to create the pdf and once it is available in the repository, I will enable the download button as well. Your name will be added in the release notes of the next version (example). This is how everyone is attributed.

Thanks :-)

I found an untranslated title, and maybe there'll be some more corrections as I find them on the way..

If it is complicated to edit the pdf in the respository/program, then maybe we should give it some time for editing and corrections.. ?

Nobody is perfect, I think, and therefore I calculate with some translationerrors here and there.. Just want to find them :-)

Correcting the pdf is not an option. Instead, we refresh the pdf file on regular basis based on the latest version of the handbook pages on the website. We do that at least for each new release.
