When clicking on a full bar rest, a 1/4 button is highlighted.
Should it not be the value of the whole bar?

How would you deal with a full bar rest in a 5/4 score ?

Did wonder (and should have thought properly) about that, but OK.
Perhaps it could be implemented for simple time signatures and certain others? The rest would be just one beat.
