Alternate form of time signature showing note = 1 beat

• Aug 17, 2015 - 02:44

An alternate time-signature notation consists of a numeral indicating the number of beats per measure, written above an example of the note that gets one beat. For example, 6/8 would be written as 2 above a dotted quarter. A discussion of this appears in Gardner Read's "Music Notation" (2nd ed.), at the end of Chapter 10, under the head "Suggested Reforms" with examples. Could this be implemented?

I notice that if I try to edit the Time Signature text by right-clicking and selecting Time Signature Properties, that I am only able to input numbers in the Text boxes for appearance. I think the feature request would be easy to implement if simply remove the "numbers only" restriction, allowing user to manually copy the character for a whatever note duration and paste there in denominator.
