Cannot hear sound in mp3 and midi files

• Aug 18, 2015 - 16:15

Hello,
I've recently started using Muse so my apologies if my questions sound silly.
I'm having difficulty extracting and exporting the audio part of my muse files. That is, I know how to export the score as a pdf, but then I tried exporting the file as an mp3 and also as a midi but they don't show up in the list of saved documents in my computer. So I tried uploading the score to musescore and then dowloading it as an mp3 and as a midi file, but my windows player cannot play them: the midi file has no sound and the mp3 cannot be opened at all. I want to know if this might be a problem with my computer, as it's running Windows Vista and how can I fix this problem.

With Vista, if you export a file you need to be sure to give it the proper filenames extension or it won't work. So call the file "score.mp3" not just "score".

As for the file on musescore.com, can you post a link? It should have worked, but maybe your version of Windows Media Player really is too old. Never heard of that happening before, though.
