Playback palette

Can someone tell me what the percentage numbers below the BPM mean, and their relation to one another? Is there control of it? Is it based on what tempo markings you have applied? In my score, I put tempo markings, but haven't been able to get it to play the same tempo when it comes back to the beginning at my "ds al segno" marking and the coda. If it would be helpful, I can attach my score.
