Adding Text Tempo Marking
Hi,
Using 2.0.2 Rev f51dc11. Am able to Add->Text->Tempo marking and a text box comes up on the score with the symbol for a quarter note and then the text "= 80". Is there a way to change the symbol from quarter note to half note?

Sure. Double-click on it to edit the text, then open the Special Characters window to get the half note symbol (see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/text-editing-0#symbols-and-special-ch…).
By the way, the Tempo palette contains a pre-defined tempo with a half note.

doh! I didn't even notice the tempo palette (the downfalls of trying to do things merely by searching for desired task via help menu :-). thanks also for pointing out how to call up special symbols. when searching on forums for setting tempo, didn't find much because i was using the wrong terms.
