How to recover older version after crash?

• Aug 22, 2015 - 00:25

I'm in MuseScore version 2.0.2, using Windows 7.

What happened was I was trying to save an MP3 file of my score (just the first movement), and I had already begun writing parts of the second movement before, so I cut the rest of the score, planning to paste it back after getting the MP3 file of the first movement. However, soon after exporting, MuseScore crashed, and I lost my sketches of the second movement.

I looked at this link: https://musescore.org/en/node/52116
and it seems like it says that it's possible to recover older versions of my score, and it says that it can be found through : C:\Users\_USERNAME_\AppData\Local\MuseScore\MuseScore2\

However, I can't find the folder "AppData" anywhere. I tried to view hidden files but that still didn't work. So how am I supposed to recover an earlier version of my score?

Thanks.

Maybe it's obvious, but you need to substitute your actual user name. AppData should be there, along with your documents, poctures, and other standard Windows folders.

Yeah, I understood that you need to substitute "USERNAME". I figured it out though.

The reason I couldn't find AppData is because when I tried to view hidden files, I accidentally missed step 6, which said to click on the button that said "Show hidden files, folders, or drives." I unchecked the boxes as it said in step 7 and 8, but forgot the previous step. Now, I was able to find what I was looking for. :)

Thanks for the help!
