Symbols in Instrument Names; Left Barlines
#1. I'm creating a page showing 12 scales (each on a single treble clef staff) with fingering. The best way to accomplish this seems to be by creating 12 individual instruments, one measure long each. It seems easiest to name each scale (e.g. C, G, D, A, E) to the left of each staff in the Instrument Name area. Is there a way to add a sharp or flat (or other symbol) to the instrument name?
#2. I also want to separate the staves from each other so they don't look like one score, but keep the barline at the start of each staff. I deselected "Barline at start of multiple staves" but kept "Barline at start of single staff" checked in Edit Style: Barlines. But it's not working.

Twelve individual instruments is almost certainly not the best way to go. What you want is one instrument with section breaks. Add the scale names to each staff as text—perhaps chord symbols, which will automatically display "#" as a sharp symbol and "b" as a flat. Otherwise, see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/text-editing-0#symbols-and-special-ch… to get your sharp and flat symbols.

Cool, Zack...yeah I knew about section breaks but wasn't sure if using text was required here. Chord symbols seem like a good solution. Thanks for your help.
