Musescore freezes and doesn't play

Everything worked fine on my old Lenovo R61 with the latest lxle-Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS. I bought a new Lenovo E31 with Intel i3 and 4GB RAM,installed the same OS and it didn't took long for the problems to come along. There is no sound and the program freezes. The sound works fine on other programs like Denemo and on the Internet. I tried to remove and reinstall, to revert to factory settings,to check the I/O settings but nothing solves the problems. Glad if you could think of some kind of a solution.Thanks!!!
