Not Velocity Help
is there a way to change the velocity of every note in a piece at the same time? I have downloaded a midi file and the velocities are strange. I would prefer to have the whole thing be one volume without going into each note and changing them.

First, it's better using a MusicXML file if you can, instead of MIDI. Depending on the MIDI file, adding a dynamic from the dynamics Palette can help.

when I add a dynamic marking from the palette it doesn't change the velocity of the note in question.
