Pause

Hi.

Everytime I write a score for a choir, I chose, Tenor 1 & 2 and bass 1 & 2.
On then tenor-line, the fullpause (if that is what it is called in englich?), dissapear.
But just never on the bass-line.

Can anyone tell me what I do wrong?

By "pause" are you referring to Measure rests ? What does your score look like (can you attach it)? What steps are you use to see the problem? What do you expect to see?

Thanks, it's good to know the proper words. :)

How ever, I attached a picture from a score I'm working on.
As you can see, they are filled with proper notes, but the measure rest, doesn't disappear.

And, as I said, on the first line, the DO disappear, when the notes are put in place.

It looks like you are using two voices . While you have notes in one voice you still have rests in the other. You can drag these rests up or down so that they are more normal looking. If you want to delete voice 2 rests you can press delete to removed them (or right click and "set invisible" to hide them).

No, I am using tenor and bass. That's what I choose when starting a new score.

Look at this other picture, and tell me what you think. On the bassline, the measure rests are still there. :(

By voices I mean the term described in the handbook: voices . The voices are numbered 1-4 on a per-staff basis. So I recommend using voice 1 and voice 2 for the tenor and bass clef (not voice 3 and voice 4). Every staff measure must have at least voice 1 notes or rests.

NOW I know what you mean with voices. I have to use only voice one and two on each line.
I thought 3 and 4 was good to use on the bassline.

Just to confirm, I attached another pic. It's the colorful squares you referred to as voices. Right?
