Set instrument on imported score
Hi, I have imported an alto saxophone piece from PDF. In Musescore, the converted mscz file has the instrument setting (in stave properties) as 'Voice Oohs' - in concert pitch. When I set the instrument to Alto Saxophone, the whole score gets transposed - that is not what I want. I just want to mark the stave as being in Alto Sax/Eb without the transposition. How can I do that?
I need to be able to do this as I'm wanting to add a flute part, and keep things in the correct pitch.

Changing the instrument doesn't transpose the entire score - just that staff. So if you have a flute staff, it won't be affected. However, the problem here is presumably that the staff is *already* transposed for alto sax but MuseScore does not know this. So when you tell it to change instrument to alto sax, it thinks it needs to transpose again. You'll probably have to un-transpose it manually - select the contents of the staff, Notes / Transpose.
At least, that's my guess from your description. Seeing the actual score would help us understand better.
