Can Not Put Rests In To Pickup Measure,Or Change Out Symbols On A Score Mouse Jumps Wildly

• Mar 3, 2011 - 03:56

I Am New To This - I Have Been Writting Music For 1 Year Now On Another Product Called Chord Song; But Now I Am Trying To Move On To Writting Better Sounding Music! The Problem Is I Can't Seem To Figure Out How To Get My 1.0
Program To Respond As It Sound!
When I Try To Set Up My Pick Up Measure I Can't Get The Whole Rests Out , Or Put Any Rests In , Much Less Put Notes
In The Right Place!
The Curser Is Irratic, It Just Won't Let Me Get Started!
Nither Would The 0.9.6.3 Version I Had Before!
I Don't Have A MIDI Keyboard -- Could That Solve This Problem???

I am having difficulty similar to Freeman above. I cannot seem to remove rests either in Note mode or Text mode. I have no backspace key as I am on a Mac but the delete key has no effect _or_ the cursor jumps to another measure and my changes are added there. My mouse is a trackpad and i haven't noticed any problems in any other software.
So, how do I delete a rest?

Thanks,
Kate

The only way to "remove" a rest is to put something there. It should be understood as a place holder.

If the aspect that is troublesome is that the rest is not a full bar rest since you added and removed a note, you can turn it back to a full bar rest by -

1. Selecting the rest
2. entering edit mode
3. selecting the time value that you want to have it be from the toolbar
4. Advancing through that bar.

I still use an earlier version in which the spacebar advances the cursor. If you have a more recent version, I believe the "0" key advances the cursor.

On the other hand you can make rests invisible by right clicking on them and setting them as "invisible".
