vertically compress staves in system on single line?

I need to vertically compress the staves in a system on just one line. Unfortunately the Staff Spacers (from Breaks & Spacers palette) will only increase the distance between staves rather than decrease them, so that's no help.

Here's the problem: I have too much space in a multipart score (had two systems per page with nearly another system's worth of distracting white space at the bottom), so used Style > Page to increase the staff distance. And now everything's perfect--except for the first page. The composition's title, unfortunately, pushes the second system over the edge onto the next page. But as you can see from the attachment, there's no music in the first three staves, so no reason that this first system can't be totally smushed together so as to bring the second system back onto the page.

However, I can't find a way to do the smushing. It is possible, or am I going to have to readjust the page style again (to less than perfect)?

EDIT: Oops, just realized that I should have posted this in "Support and Bugs"--at a cursory glance I assumed it was solely a bug-report forum. I notice that a lot of folks make the same mistake and post help requests here, but at any rate I won't do it again.

Currently there is no way to do this, although perhaps at some point one will be added. I implemented something to do this, but I don't know that the method I chose is compatible with some long term changes planned for vertical layout; I think a different method may end up being used.

The standard thing to do would be to either put the title info on a separte page (ie, add a page break to the title frame), or extend it down so the one system on that page is lower on the page. I don't think most publishers would play games with the spacing to force a second system onto that first page.

If you wish to hide the first three staves on the first system, simply use Style / General / Hide empty staves.
