confirguring notation for drum set palette

• Feb 3, 2016 - 18:14

My query is; writing in the percussion/drum set palette...although I understand selecting the specific icon to represent each components of a drum set, **if the desired notation selected could be placed on any specific line of the staff, such as in the way any group of notes (quarter, eighth, sixteenth) can be selected, placed and then manipulated using 'my first score'...**then the placement itself represents which drum is to be played; (in the case of snare, toms, bass) the notes are all the same, only where they appear on the staff indicates appropriate drum. Same for the 'x' for (hi hat, ft hat, ride, crash)...placement indicates appropriate component. (Not to exclude ride bell, cowbell, etc., which have there own icon.

*This way any group of notes (quarters, eighths, sixteenths) could be placed and manipulated on the staff all at one time and where they land on the staff represents the appropriate drum rather than selecting an individual icon for snare, toms, bass, -one at a time?? Hoping this makes sense!

I am not sure I understand your question, but see the Handbook under "Drum notation" to learn how to custimze the entry & display of drum notes. The key is the "Edit Drumset" button / menu item.
