changing treble clef in 'my first score' to a percussion clef

• Feb 3, 2016 - 21:29

began initial notation for drums (quarters/eighths/sixteenths) in 'my first score' using treble clef instead of percussion clef. Now wishing to edit & change . Clicking and dragging on the percussion clef (advanced mode) does not work. Is there a way to edit since 'my first score' was written in The Basic Mode?

Well, I don't use my first score. To me, it's an annoying thing that always pops up. The best thing to do is create a new document using the instruments you want. Or right-click on a measure in the staff, select staff properties, and then change the instrument name to "drumset".

thank you Elwin! Although changing instrument did not change the clef, your instruction to R click on measure then select properties, allowed me to un-check the box 'show clef' which deleted the treble clef from the entire score and it now appears as a drum set tab. Thanks so much!

I'm glad that worked for you this time, but if you plan to do more percussion music in the future, you'll have much better options available if you start with an actual percussion staff.

BTW, starting up with My First Score is an option you can turn off in MuseScore's Preferences.
