How to get notes on center line

• Feb 7, 2016 - 20:00

Hey guys, so for my Musescore, I write Marching Percussion pieces, and I use Mike's adaptation to get actual marching percussion instruments (like tenors and bass)(Link here: https://musescore.org/en/node/8223) However, whenever I write music for snare drum, when I insert a note, it puts it below the bar line instead of on the first line. Is there any way to fix this so it goes onto the barline? You can see what I mean in the screenshot attached. I've looked in a lot of places but I still can't find where to fix this.

I know Mike's instruments are a little bit outdated since MuseScore 2, so is that the problem? (and if it is, is there a newer version of marching percussion instruments for musescore 2?) Any help would be appreciated, I'm not that experienced with this software.

It seems to me the drum set definitions are out of date, even if you use the current official drum set definitions from the "Marching Percussion" setion of the isntruments list as opposed to the old 1.3 customized version. A one-line percussion staff in 2.0 corresponds to the *top* line, not the *middle* line, or a five-line staff (this was a change made since 1.3). I'm surprised that I don't remember anyone else pointing this out before, though. So maybe I'm not understanding something about how this is intended to be used?
