Why Not - First Try with MuseScore
So...here it is. My first try with MuseScore (after learning just enough to do so...) Totally cool program, though 0.9.5 on Kubuntu was a little flaky. So I'm back on 0.9.4. Somewhere along the way to 0.9.5 and back MS "lost" the staff names (substituting "InstrumentLong", etc) but no big deal...the music was intact. Well, I just noticed the whole measure rests for the top line are borked, but it plays correctly. Is there a way to cause MS to recalculate things like that? I seemed to run into similar issues a bit.
Comments welcome.
Thanks. FOSS is just beautiful.

Select a measure and press Del to create a whole measure rest.
You mention that 0.9.5 on Kubuntu was "flaky". Please report any details of "flackiness" to the forum.

Will do...it may take me a week or so...but I'll give 0.9.5 a more thorough spin.

The "flaky" thing was that it just would not produce sound or seemingly even attempt to do so. It was not a conflict with other sound generators (Amarok, etc). And the Play Dialog would not show. In any case, I upgraded again to 0.9.5 and it now plays. I have it configured to use ALSA. Someday I'll "get" the Linux sound system. But yes it does work.
