In fact it does not rely to the count of bars, but it is impossible to use copy/paste with this version under Windows 7 : it is crashing all the time.
I wanted to mix several tracks imported from different midi files by copying/pasting the notes : impossible.
Try with the midi file that I have attached :
- open it
- select all the notes in the 2 bars, by selecting from the first one to the last one (by pressing shift)
- use the edit menu Copy : the application crashes

It looks like the problem is related to the imported MIDI file rather than copy paste in general. See http://musescore.org/node/4049 for details including a workaround.
