Please see attached, bars 17 and 18. Notes were just added and corrected via up-and-down arrows.
Bar 17 contains an unnecessary flat.

What key signature are you in? Which bars are 17 and 18? (The screen shot does not show this information).

Bar 17 is the one on the top right. I included the next bar to demonstrate that that bar was correct.
Key, C Major
Bar 17, treble clef, flat sign on the 2nd E is inappropriate.

If I write the notes in measure 17 on my computer I don't get the extra flat on the E. Could you give more precise steps to reproduce this?

I replaced the note, altered it to Eb and, no problem.
Cannot seem to reproduce. It is the same file in which the inappropriate beams occurred, so I believe that it has something to do with trying to add a bar to the top of the score, but . ??????
