File 2.0 open in 1.3
Hello, just new in MuseScore I couldn't import PDF in 1.3 and 2.0 without having a lot of mistakes. Now I worked on a PDF for the last couple of hours after having read the whole manual and looking all the help-videos. Now I want to open it on my Ipad in Songbook and it doesn't open, because it was made in 2.0... on my laptop I cannot open it in 1.3. Is there a way to open scores made in 2.0 in 1.3??
Hoping to hear from someone!

Hi Poelenco.
Welcome to the MuseScore forum.
Neither 1.3 or 2.0 beta import PDF - that's an entirely different area :).
2.0 files will not open in Songbook until the final version is released (it is currently in beta and not recommended for serious work).
Files produced in 2.0 will not open in 1.3, but you could try via MusicXML format (export from 2.0 and import in 1.3).
Hope that helps!

Thank you, now I could open it in 1.3! Only some small things to adjust.
But how will I be able to open it in Songbook? Or in the other Ipad app?
Will I have to have a paid version of MuseScore on the laptop?

Once the MusicXML is in 1.3, you can save it as mscz and it will open in the Songbook.
MuseScore is free on desk/laptop. :)

Sorry, it opened on Ipad through Dropbox; outstanding! Now have to learn to import easier...
Could you please tell me the steps that you used to open the .mscz files from Dropbox? I managed to get them to the Dropbox account on my iPad but cannot see anyway of opening them from Songbook.
Thanks!

Thank you, Thomas! So simple when you look at it but you've been a great help.
Merry Christmas!
Is there any way to open a file that was created in 2.0, in 1.3 because otherwise the only way i can think of doing it is by rewriting everything and that would take forever.
Thanks in advance from a desperate GCSE music student

Thanks but I've tried that and it distorts my composition a lot, is there any way to stop that from happening?

@natalie you could export to pdf from 2.0beta2 and use those pdfs for your GCSE?
