Embedding 4 measures of score into MS-Word text
Hi: Writing an article and I want to capture 4 measures of one of my scores and embed it into a MicroSoft Word text document. If this is possible, please tell me how. Thanks!!

I should have said, I'm using MuseScore 1.2 -- Someday I will work up the courage to download the new one. 1.3 did not work well with this MacBook Pro but I hear 2.0 is better.

When you press the Stamp key on the keyboard (or RSist - Print) what you see is copied.
Open an image program and choose Paste, then cut out what interests you and save as image (jpeg/png) to insert into a document

On Mac, press Cmd + Shift + 4 to take a screenshot of an area of your screen.

Nothing that says Stamp or RSist or Print on a MacBook Pro keyboard and I know nothing about images or image programs. I just play the piano. Thanks for trying to help.

To be clear, when you take a screenshot, it's not copied to the clipboard—it's saved to the Desktop as a PNG. From there, open it in Preview, GIMP, or whatever, and then you can copy and paste it.
You may also be able to simply drag the PNG file from the Desktop into your Word document—at least, this works with LibreOffice .

Appreciate your attempts to help me. For whatever reason, my screenshot PNGs go into something called Dropbox, not Desktop. Additionally, the "shot" is an entirely black full-page with my 4 measures of music in the middle. This is not something I could fit into a paragraph of text. If I try to copy it anywhere, the identifying string, ending in PNG is all that I see, nothing else. Word doesn't display it. I may try to find some tech-guru who can help me. Thanks for your help! If you want, attach here the page of your score, specify what measures you want to photograph ...

You're right. Additionally, I found that the Cmd + Shift + 4 routine puts the selected measures into my Downloads folder. Selecting the downloaded image puts it into Preview and I can, then, drag it into a Word document or Excel or Outlook, etc. Thanks ever so much for your help and encouragement. This means I can give my students some very helpful write-ups that will help them between lessons, as well as communicate with my colleagues. Very grateful to you! JHJ

I'm guessing you have this feature enabled in Dropbox. But see if you can do the following steps:
1. Go to your Dropbox folder on your computer.
2. Double-click the PNG file or secondary-click, go to "Open With >", and select "Preview."
3. In the Preview application, click and drag to select just the area in the middle of the surrounding black background where the part you want is.
4. With the correct part of the image selected, go to the Edit menu and click "Copy."
5. Open you word processing document. Click in the place where you want the image to be pasted. Go to the Edit menu and click "Paste."
If you follow these instructions, there should be no problem.
