can't shift note from a to b
Note is mistakenly an A when it should be a B. I highlight it and either drag it up or type in "B" but it simply jumps up to C. Same thing happens when I try to move other notes from a space to a line -- it just jumps to the next space. What's up with that?

Select the note and use the keyboard up/down arrows instead. Dragging is very imprecise.

Thanks, but I have tried that. When dragging didn't work (imprecise as you say). I tried typing in the note name ("B" in this case) but it just jumped from A to C. Ditto when I used the up and down arrows -- it would go to A# and then instead of B it would go next to Cb. I tried other notes as well, same thing. Just didn't want to have anything to do with the lines!

It's impossible to say without more info - please say what version of MuseScore, post the actual score you are having problems with, and then give *precise* step by step instructions to reproduce the problem.

Well, wouldn't you know it! When I tried it this morning, it worked perfectly! Who knows what the problem was, but it is gone. Thanks for offering to help.
