Guitar, Same pitches in Two strings at same time....

• Apr 18, 2011 - 19:31

Hello,

The musescore1.0 presets the same problem of finale and others score-editors,

In guitar or others plucked instruments is possible play the same note in two or more strings simutaneously...

In standard notation,it's write one head each note,

when I put Tree notes E3 or E4, I don't sure of exact pitch,

a in the first string open and other in fifth fret in second string,

In atual version of test, in notation standard or tablature, I can't put it...

Each note in each need own your proper head,

In istruments with "Ordens", pair of strings, the notation is abreviate, Notes are representing the "ordem", the way tradicional ignore octaves or unissons...

I will be glad if musescore be the first software that it be possible , after guitar pro6,

It'll be great if sound the strings in the same pitch too...

The notation of of classical guitar is naturaly complex,

When I write two note sharing the head, but with stems in opostes directions,

it normaly sign the ONE note(pitch in one string) pertain to Two diferents diferents melodies listened,

It it's very common in the classical repertory like Carcassi, Sor, Aguado, Carulli and Giulliani at comteporary repertory...

The guitar notation of classical guitar permit ambiguousity in the performance...

So, The notation to guitar need be specify in some cases like it.

I hope that other musicians concords with me... and They observe the ausence of this element....

Thanks,

Bye...

P.S.: I loved the "Toogle Foto Mode", it can facilite my life....

Marcus,
I'm not sure I'm following you but you can enter two notes at the same pitch by using "voices". When you do this MS shows a single notehead (there are actually two noteheads but they're directly on top of each other) with two separate stems - one pointing up and one pointing down (assuming that's the default you have set for the stems in the voices you're using). If you want to make it more obvious that hey are separate notes on separate voices you can double click the notehead to enter edit mode and use the directional arrow keys on your keyboard to move one of the noteheads to the left or right. I've knocked up a quick example (attached) in case it helps
