[april snow] -new string quartet

• May 1, 2011 - 20:15

Hey guys, so after my last string quartet got surprisingly good reviews in this forum, I figured I'd write another one in a similar style. This one is called april snow (deliberately uncapitalized because I like the way that looks on paper), and, unlike Carpe Diem, it is written in the traditional instrumentation of two violins, a viola, and cello. This one is a little longer, but no less fun in my opinion. As always, criticism would be awesome!! Thank you =D

I really like it, especially the way you've sprinkled in the triplets, and I love the section from about bar 93 on. I want to hear it with a live quartet, and also arranged for organ, which is odd because I don't like the organ much. Or maybe on the accordion? Anyway, I like it. Thank you very much for sharing.

...but it's a close second! I love to hear your work, so please keep it coming! You will be successful with all of these! Continue what you are doing and you will surely succeed. You gain the youth vote!

I am not going to say any critic only that i would put the viola in "ff" and the violoncello in "fff" in the first part of the song until pentagrama 36,because i cant hardly hear those instruments and their part is very good as well.

For the rest,congratulations!

What a wonderful piece. Of course the midi sound on my computer doesn't do it justice. Is there a way of getting better midi
instruments? I'd like to hear this recorded with live instruments.
