Instrument request

I was wondering if there was a way to change the dulcimer instrument
"instrument" section. As of now when I click on it it gives me a treble cleft
and a bass cleft but what is really needed is a treble clef and a tab with 3
strings. with the top string being D right above middle C and the other two
strings being A right below middle C (this is the most commonly used). Ive
been using it alot and have to use mandolin tab and change a bunch before I
even get started. Hoping this is possible. thank you very much.

Once you have set up a score the way you like, you can save it to your Templates folder and then it will be available for use every time you create a new score.

i dont know what a patch for instruments.xml is but the "common" tuning is DAA where the base string is a D (D3) and two A(3)'s. yes it is and appalachian or mountain dulcimer. It is also a diatonic instrument.

1st String (bass) D - 2nd String (middle) A - 3rd String and 4th String (melody strings) A
Tune the 3rd or bass string to the D below Middle C on the Piano (or to the open 4th string of a guitar).
Press the 3rd or bass string just left of the 4th fret and pluck this note (A). Tune your middle or 2nd string until it matches this pitch.
Tune the 1st or melody string to the same note as the open middle string.

It will also tune not only D Ionian but the other two poplular tunings are D Mixolydian (DAD) Tuning and "Reverse Ionian" tuning, (DGD).

Let me know what else you need I will try my hardest to help cause I use this ALOT to make our own book. Thanks
