loading previously saved files?

Forgive me if you already saw my response below; I realised that there's no "reply in general" type of choice here, so I wanted you to know that I was getting back to you, even though it may technically appear that I only replied to the second suggestion.

@Marc: You know, it seems as though I unwittingly did just this, because when I re-opened MuseScore right after the horrendous crash, the "previous session quit unexpectedly. Restore session?" message was up, and I had clicked "yes", and THAT is what brought up the horribly ruined score. However, I became so disgusted that I went to the "saved files" tab and pulled up the previously-saved one that way--without even realising what I was doing--and voila! My measures were back, complete with notes, in 4/4. HOWEVER, I still had to start from the LAST point I'd left off--and there was still quite a bit of work I had done, over four voices on four staves, which was lost, and there was no previous restore point I could find to get to these, which I'm kicking myself about.

@Lasconic: I have Windows XP, and was able--through a bit of searching--to basically find, more or less, the same file path as you mentioned above; strangely enough, nothing came up when I went to the Application Data folder--it's blank! Which I find quite mystifying. However, I performed an Advanced Search, and looked for anything that contained the word "fugue" in it (since that word is in the title of the piece in question), which brought up, among numerous other things, a process folder for MuseScore, which never would have found due to the blankness if AppData--anyway, inside the process folder was a notepad file, which appears to be a kind of memory cache for the whole programme, and it looks as though it saves the last nine things which were worked on and saved (even automatically by the programme itself). However, I looked through all the zip files there, and there was NOTHING pertaining to my fugue in previous states--only in the currently saved format. Therefore, I still can't get my lost measures back. I don't know if this is the only "file cache" type of thing--I was surprised, actually, because quite a few drafts of things which I'd opened, started working on, and then deleted (or so I'd thought) were still there, and saved in zipped cache folders. But is there a way to find the entire list of cached folders? They seem to be hidden files of some kind, accessible only to the programme itself. But there's GOT to be a way to get/find all of them--potentially even all the way back to the very day I installed MuseScore!--and THAT is what I'm after.

Of course, in the meantime, since I unwittingly saved my own bum, I re-composed the sections I lost, since at least my 4th beats were restored. But, this was pure dumb luck. And, I'd like to know how to do this, and if (in the event that any administrative types are reading this) if there will be a restore cache that's more user-accessible in future versions of MuseScore? A feature like that would probably make a lot of people a lot less likely to have emergency laundering to do, on top of re-composing lost work due to sudden MuseScore crashes!!

Thanks very much the kind help of you two chaps. But, if anyone else has any suggestions, I'm still an eager auditor.
