How 2 make barre not extend all the way to first string?
I cannot figure out how to make a barre only extend over the strings I want. It always goes to the first string, what am I missing?

use Shift+click in the lowest string of the barre, to have it going from the highest to that.
There is no way to have a barre skipping the higher strings., if you need that, just place dots on all but the highest

You mean there's no way to make barre chords like this in MuseScore?

Yeah but it's confusing to show a barre over a string and an X at the same time. X means not to play that string. Darn, I didn't realize the program had this limitation at present.

How would you draw these diagrams using the thick line notation MuseScore is using?
The first one for example. If I understand correctly the bracket at the top is the barré? but it spans accross a X string?

You're right, the screenshot I showed had a barre over a non played string. There bigger problem is the inability to control what strings the barre does or does not cover.

the biggest problem is to actually perform those ;-)
