Lay out 'book style'

I'm new at this forum and I did not go through all the former posts. I'm a frequent user of MuseScore 1.3 and I have to say it is awesome what you people have done and I'm very grateful to use it. How ever I have a question, I run into problems when producing my scores for publication, I either print to PDF or to PNG, the PDF's are fine but I can't add additional textual notes. So I fall back on the PNG export, but the images are a little blurred when put in a MS Word file, the PDF's created from there are not up to my standards.

Is it possible to create function within MuseScore to add additional text, such as explanatory notes, opus magnus lists, title page (with pictures?), composer biography or what ever else one might add?

It would also help to just create better PNG's or other picture file formats (tiff?) that do not blur, instead.

Thanks for your time and efforts.
Sincerely;
Jeroen

Also, there *are* programs that can add additional text to PDF's. But as for graphic export, the default might be low resolution, but start MuseScore from the command line with the "-r" option and you can set whatever resolution you like. Also, if you export PDF instead of PNG, you get maximum resolution, and while Word might not be able to import PDF, msot desktop publishing programs probably can.

While it is certainly possibile your text needs are beyond what MuseScore can do on its own, it's also possible you aren't aware of everything MuseScore *can* actually do with text. Ypu can place text pretty much anywhere you like on the lage and format it pretty much however you like. You might want to descrbe what you are trying to do in more detail so we can better advise on how it can be done.

Meanwhile, as for the "-r" option, if you are on Windows, you get to a command line prompt via the Start window, at least for Windows 7 or earlier. Type "cmd" into the text box and hit Enter. This sbould pop up a standard DOS command prompt window. Then you would type

C:\Program Files (x64)\MuseScore\bin\mscore.exe -r 300

(Or wherever your mscore executable it).

For instructions on getting a command prompt window on macOS or Linux, a search on those terms should provide answers.
