MuseScore Can No Longer Read my Corrupted Score

• Jun 1, 2020 - 20:03

I'm still learning a lot about MuseScore and in the past whenever I've had a score with corrupted measure(s) I never really thought twice about it and it never inhibited my MuseScore usage, so I never worried about it. Yesterday, I opened one of my scores and was greeted by the corrupt message, and as usual, I let it be. However, while working on the score it kept crashing. So then I began to do research on how to fix the corruption, which was super easy, but any time I tried to save the score after removing the corrupted measure, it crashed again and did not save the change. I was getting frustrated with it and decided I'd worry about it tomorrow, and here I am the next day, with the same problem. Except after trying again, now when I try to open the score I'm greeted by an error message saying that MuseScore cannot read the file. In my scores folder I'm also left with a .mscz.temp file as well as the original .mscz file of the score. I've attached the original score in case that is needed for any help. I've been trying to find a solution on these forums but am struggling, so if anyone has some insight, I would much appreciate it! Thanks!

The .temp file is in the Scores folder along with all of my other scores, but I also just noticed that it also is 0 bytes so I don't think it will be helpful.
I searched through all of the autosaved backups and any of the files dated back to yesterday or today have the same problem: MuseScore cannot open them. I searched through all of the other backups and they're either blank untitled scores that I forgot to close out of when starting up MuseScore or backups of different scores I worked on. Thinking this one is a lost cause unless anyone poses any other solutions, sadly. :(
