Real-time input mode
Hello everyone. I'm really enjoying MuseScore especially the real-time function to input notes using a midi keyboard. I just have one issue. I need to write 8th notes and 16th notes but I want the metronome to keep on quarter note. How can I do that? I searched for that but couldn't find a solution. Thank you! Alberto.

Not.
The metronome tick is the smallest value you can input.

I think it would be a great feature to add. Thank you!

A reason it is the way it is was to eliminate much of the guesswork that would otherwise be required to decide whether you meant to play exactly on the beat or not, etc. It greatly complicates the coding, and greatly increases the chances for error. Not saying it couldn't be done someday - perhaps for or after MuseScore 4, when other sequencer-like features are planned. But realistically, I wouldn't expect it to give you better results, quite the contrary.
Meanwhile, another possibility is to actually use a sequencer program to handle the real-time MIDI input, save as a standard MIDI file, then import that.

Makes sense. That's actually a good idea. I'm definetely gonna try that on Logic Pro for example and then import the midi to MuseScore. Thank you!
