Can you clarify? Do you suddenly have a measure with 7/8 duration in the program when it should be 4/4 or do you want a 7/8 measure in the middle of a 4/4 section.

There is a way to fix it in either case. Right click the measure, choose measure properties and set the actual duration to the proper number of beats.
