Notehead schemes with degrees

• Oct 15, 2020 - 16:56

Hello community,
I feel this could be an easy and useful feature to add when creating music for beginners or for choirs.
A lot of American University avoid the moveable/fixed do problem by using letters by using pitch name (C, D, E, F) for the fixed do system and scale degrees for the moveable do, some times with circumflexes as in the Nashville Number System.

Would it be difficult to make a notehead scheme with degrees, numbers in it, from 1 to 7? Would there be a way for me to help do that as a neophyte at programming?

I second that request. Is there an extension to do that?

Many casual instruments, such metal tongue drums, have the keys labeled with degrees, and come with accompanying song books of melodies that are written as numbers. (I have never seen them with movable Solfège notation).

That note head scheme would be quite useful.

There is no extension for this - as mentioned, it isn't part of the SMuFL standard and hence music fonts provide no such symbols. You'd have to go to the SMuFL site and request they add this to the standard. Then if that happens, music fonts would start supporting it, and MuseSclre could use it.
