Improvement of playback: advanced progress of visible measure
When using MuseScore as play-along (which works very well in most cases!) sometimes it would be fine that the scope of the visible part of the score advances earlier that the just played chord.
Maybe a optional setting could be provided that allows to provoke an advancing of the visible score part before the playback really reaches at this position.
In most cases, just one measure progress would do the job.
Difficult to say, what should be done in case of repeats or jumps: maybe the best is to ignore this and just keep the actual behaviour.

Have you tried the new smooth panning? See Edit / Preferences / Advanced to enable it.

Wow... no, I did not see it before.
Where can I find a description of the settings? It is not really obvious, how it works.
Another question: up to now it seems that this feature is only available in continuous view mode (therefore I didn't see it working during my first try-outs).
Is there a plan to make it working in page view mode, too? Normally I use this when playing...

There is no description (yet). And yes, it is for continuous mode only for now.
It is hidden in the advanced settings for a reason ;-)

I can't imagine what this would look like in page view, seems it would be extremely disorienting.
To enable it, just turn on the toggle. Everything is just settings to customize fine details of exactly how it works, you shouldn't need to mess with it (and I don't really understand those settings either).
