Piano Keyboard has no sound
Hi,
I'm running the latest MuseScore3 on a MacBook Pro using Catalina OS.
My scores all work fine with full sound, and inputting notes with N makes a sound as they come into the score. But there is no sound when I view the piano keyboard (P) and click on a note.
There seems to be a similar problem here, but it resolved itself (mysteriously)

To be clear: when clicking that note on the piano keyboard view, is it added to the score?

No, its not.
Also, I added notes to the top line of my score (happens to be violin) and now the piano does play when I click it, but it sounds like a violin.

I believe this is so by design. That the virtual piano keyboard uses the sound from the selected staff.

I don't think that's the way this works. When I closed the score and reopened it, and pulled up the piano keyboard, no sound played until I clicked on a note on the violin staff. Then the piano played with violin sounds. When I click on other instruments' staff, I still get violin sounds.
Please can you open the mixer and tell me if the midi port and channels are in order: 1st instrument in midi port 1 and channel 1, 2nd instrumente in midi port 1 and channel 2... etc
And see if the instruments playback in solo mode the correct sound...

Hi
I opened the mixer, and when I click on the different instruments, they all show up as port 1. Violin is channel 1, accordian channel 3, piano channel 4, and double bass channel 5. I had a voice staff which I deleted, so no channel 2,

And yes, they play the right sounds in solo mode, and also when I click on notes in a staff. Its just the virtual keyboard that seems weird.
Are you changing the order of instruments when you're working in that specific score?

I deleted that one staff (for voice) otherwise no changes
