Changing sounds within multi-staff entry
- Open attached score.
- Click on the note in the bass stave of bar 3.
Potential result: it sounds piano.
Actual result: it sounds synth. bass.
This is a score in which I use stave text to change sounds within an instrument ('effect synthesiser'). I don't know what is deemed correct/expected; perhaps there are situations in which the current implementation is right (sound change applies to one stave only), but should there be a setting for my desired behaviour (applicable to all staves)?

The current system allows for things like a violin divisi section with multiple staves where some are playing arco and others pizz. so that needs to remain possible. An option to apply to all staves of the instrument would be useful for situations like yours where it make no sense to change the sound one staff at a time. Perhaps there could be a checkbox that says "Apply to all staves." This is something that should definitely be considered for 4.0 since this is supposed to be totally revised.
You should enter a Suggestion for this in the Issue tracker.
If I understand correctly...
In bar 2 of your attachment, the bass clef is sounded as synth bass because you changed it using stave text (anchored to the bass clef).
Then, in bar 3, you attached the stave text to the treble clef (which already sounds as piano)..
Attach the stave text to the bass clef and the synth bass sound will change to piano.
So...
1. Open this attached score: Changing sounds2.mscz
2. Click on the note in the bass stave of bar 3.
Potential result: it sounds piano.
Actual result: it sounds piano.

Yes, that can be done, though I don't think that solution wouldn't work in other cases, which is why I was wondering about a setting (discussing here before potentially filing on the tracker).
