1) Updated attached score to version 3.6 new fonts.
2) Playback (the problem first occurs at bar 10).
If I delete and reenter the offending notes, the problem still happens.

Other scores that I have don't suffer from this problem, so I have no idea what may be causing it.

That "cantabile" text is having Swing enabled.
Right-click it, Properties System text > Swing > untick or off

Oops, my bad. I didn't know that this setting exists so I may have hit the wrong keys when trying to reset the styles or somethig...

Now I see: I actually used the "Swing" text from the text palette and changed it to "cantabile".
I still have a lot to learn about this program. Sorry for opening a non-issue.
