Startup
Since starting to use version 3, each time I start the app it takes over a minute "Loading SoundFonts". I was hoping this would be cured in the next release, but I have just installed 3.6 and it's still happening. It did not happen in earlier releases.

Do you have the MDS extension installed? If so this is the reason

Thank you for your reply. I am not aware of the MDS extension. I have looked at the plugin manager and I don't have any plugins installed, but MDS is not in the list. Can you tell me how to check if I have MDS installed.

I've just spotted Resource Manager in the Help menu and found I had MuseScore Drumline installed. I uninstalled it and that has solved the problem. I guess this is what you were referring to. Thanks again.

Yes, indeed.
Just removing its sounds from Synthesizer should have fixed it too

I installed 3.6 and now the program will not open. I get a message: "Windows cannot access the specified path or files. You man not have the appropriate permissions to access item."
I have tried to run it as an administrator and the results in the same message.
I use the program all the time and would like to be able to open it.
Any suggestions?
