Pedal marks

• Mar 30, 2021 - 22:17

Hi there!

I'm trying to figure out how to do connected pedal marks. my first picture shows the raw output, and my second pic shows what I want it to look like. It was very difficult to get it to look that way, and it still isn't perfect. Is there an easier way to align and connect these pedal marks?

Thanks!
A. Forrest

So in particular, select from the start note to the change note before clicking the pedal icon, then select from that same change note to the next change or end note before clicking the palette again.

If you've already entered them correctly, it's easy to fix, click the pedal line that ends too soon then use Shift+right to move the anchor.

Also, a quick question. Is there any way to set the palette icon size for the entire palette? I'm having difficulty seeing the icons. I got one of the sections to change size, but I don't see any way to set all the sections the same size.

Yes, but before mentioning that, it's worth asking - is it really just the palette, or is everything too small? Like, how about the text in dialogs, or the toolbar icons> Or your score itself - it should be life-sized (same as when printed) when viewed at 100% zoom. If you are seeing any or all of these also too small, then the problem is your OS's display scaling settings are not being transmitted in a way MuseScore understands. And the solution is to invoke MuseScore from the command line with the "-D xxx" option, where "xxx" is the actual effective display resolution in DPI. Or in some cases, changes to your OS's display scaling settings - system wide or for MuseScore only - can be the way to go. Those details are system-dependent, though. best to ask for help in the Support forum and include more info about your system. Oh, yeah, on some systems setting the environment variable QT_AUTO_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTOR to 1 (or to 0, or unsetting it) can help.

But to answer the original question, if everything else is the correct size but you wish the palette icons to be ;larger than life, see the palette scaling setting in Edit / Preferences / Advanced.
