i'd love to convert this to midi. can someone give me steps?

i also have a .rms file of it, which can be opened in SheetMusicNow and playback an embedded midi. but there's no way of downloading said midi.

You can try a pdf import.
Use menu item: File -> Import PDF.... to attempt a conversion into the MuseScore ,mscz file format which, once opened in MuseScore, can be exported as midi.
You can certainly attempt to use an AI facility like the one built into File / Import PDF to convert the PDF (which is just a picture of a score, it has no musical information in it at all) into an actual score file. That typically won't go very well. The more reliably steps to getting music from a PDF into MuseScore are:
1) From MuseScore, go to Help / Online Handbook
2) start reading
3) when you feel ready, start entering the notes
