Unable to play and Synthesizer greyed out
MuseScore 3.6.2548021803
Windows 10 Pro
I've tried all the things listed in How to restore sound if playback stops working. But my Synthesizer and Mixer are greyed out.
Using high-definition audio. Here is what my screen looks like after I've reverted to factory settings.

It played fine for a good while. Not sure why it decided just stop playing.

You mention Windows 10 Pro:
"In case of interference with other programs, esp. on Windows, go into your soundcard configuration from Control Panel and ensure that the Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device in the Advanced tab of both Playback and Recording is unticked.
Have you tried re-booting your computer?
There are 8 steps listed here:

Your attached picture relates to step 4.
Also, you said the Synthesizer (and Mixer) is greyed out and you tried factory settings. That's steps 1 and 2 (and 3, since Synthesizer is greyed out))..
What happens, or what do you see, for the other steps?
When you try #5, also try clicking a few times the 'Toggle midi input' button (located on the playback toolbar).
What sort of hardware setup do you have?
For example, laptop speakers, bluetooth speakers, gaming headset with a microphone, aftermarket soundcard, midi keyboard, etc.?
What is this high-definition audio you mentioned?
