notehead schemes - can they be customised?
I am trying to use the Notehead Scheme - Pitch names, whilst at the same time using the Coloured Notes plugin.
Unfortunately the white text on lighter coloured notes is difficult to read.
Can anyone help?

I need to change the colour of the Notehead Scheme.
The colours of the notes match those used by a lot of school instruments therefore I need to keep those.
My aim is to is to change the colour of the text/letters on the notes which are generated by the Pitch Names Scheme.

You can copy the pre-installed colornotes.qml file from the MuseScore installation repository plugins folder and place the copy into your user plugins folder and then customize the colors.

Once you have the copy (so as not to change the original) you can open the qml file with a text editor and change the RGB (red, green, blue) color values to your liking:

You can't change the color of the inside of the named notehead, of the notename letter(s).

You could change the notehead type to a Half, then the text would be colored along with the head

I gave that a try but think it'll still be a bit tricky for some students to read.
My current work around is to export as an SVG file and then edit externally. It works but isn't particularly quick.

That works so well. I used a 5pt DejaVu Sans font which covers almost exactly the letter beneath. What's really good with this method is that it scales and moves with notes perfectly. After positioning the first fingering text I was able to copy and paste it onto other notes with no repositioning needed. I initially had a problem selecting the fingering text after it was positioned on a note but found Ctrl + Click to be the solution.

You can simply create a fingering text with the "E" and then position it directly over the notehead (happens pretty automatically if you select a User text style; only slight position adjustment needed).
