Is there a way to have the Master Palette display on start up of Musescore? Not docked?

No, and there shouldn't any reason to use the master palette - it's a holdover from previous versions in which you couldn't always access all palette symbols directly from the main palette. Is there a specific reason you are trying to use the master palette?

Not 100% true. The Workspaces' palettes only have a limited amount of 'first class' members, some more are in their counterparts in the master palette and also accessible vie the 'More_ on the workspace's palettes, but the master palette is the only way to get to its symbols palette for all other SMuFL elements

The "More" section is what I meant in saying that the master palette wasn't normally needed anymore.

It's true the symbols palette is not normally visible by default, nor are the custom key or time signature creation tools. But those are each just a single keystroke away. So again, normally it would not be needed or advisable to have the master palette open at all times. Which is why I'm trying to understand the use case for it here, in order to advise on the more recommended way to achieve the actual goal.

You don't have to click More - one of the changes I referred to is that it is now trivially simple to customize your palette as you see fit, just drag symbols from the more section to the regular part. or even create entirely new palettes with your favorite symbols from various different palettes. Although virtually everything from the master palette is already on the advanced workspace. I understand that for MsueScore 4 these workspaces are possibly evolving again anyhow.

But there shouldn't be anything at all about the master palette that is simpler - or there is, it represents a design limitation that should be fixed in the standard palette. So feel free to explain what else about the master palette you find simpler, so this can be corrected.

If it's that important to you and yet you are mortally discouraged by the simple task of having to (god forbid) go to the extreme effort of pressing a key after you start the app, simply create a batch file that starts the app and then presses the master palette hotkey for you.

Well, you do obviously want to customize something - you want to make it so a palette that was not designed to display automatically does display. Since that is not possible, we are instead trying to help you see you you can accomplish the same end result through a different customization. Or, if you prefer not to spend that minute or so now, you can use the keyboard shortcut to open/close the master palette.

Using the master palette is not a problem, we're just pointing out it was never designed for the purpose you are trying to use it for, and my understanding is it might go away in the future since it no longer serves any real purpose. So we are simply trying to help you use the program more efficiently.

Customizing your palette should not take long, since as mentioned, very few symbols are actually missing from the main palette in the Advanced workspace, and you only need to do this once. However, if you regularly use all of the various different microtonal accidentals, that's actually the one thing I can think of that would take more than a few seconds to customize. I wonder if someone else has already done this and could post their version of the palette?
