Major Score Issue

• Oct 23, 2021 - 20:11

I tried adding a copyright to a completed score as the final step before publication, but it permanently ruined the score. The addition of the copyright using the "$C" function pushed the title of the piece over to a separate page while the score remained on its own separate page. There is no way to undo this, so I tried resetting the page settings with staff spacing.

This worked once, but when I attempted to save the score, it pushed back the title again but leaving the score smaller than before while simultaneously saving the file. This means the new, smaller and messed up score is saved and cannot be undone. Any attempt to enlarge the score so the title is in the correct place will not work. Further reduction of the score will only result in a saved file with an even smaller staff size, which looks comically bad.

I fear that as close as I had been to publication, I am now further than ever as I cannot restore the score into its original state. Perhaps I should have backed up the file, but I had never anticipated the software would do this. The effect of this has even ruined several parts with no way to restore them, and since the backups were saved before the parts were finished I feel rather upset.

Is there a way to fix this? Thank you
