Play to EXTERNAL MIDI device ONLY
Hi all! Just come back after a few months away and with a fresh system with Windows 11 (and so far I have to say YUCK!). Anyway, my problem.
I have my external Yamaha connected via USB but whenever I play something it always come through both my internal device (not sure if it's MIDI or audio but it plays none the less) and my external keyboard.
I know how to disable the external keyboard, but how do I disable the internal one? I just want to hear it through my Yamaha as that's how I'll be playing it (eventually).
Excuse me if that doesn't make sense but I'm on meds which makes my head go a little do-lally (not even sure if that's a word) especially around this time of night.
Anyway, I hope it does and I hope someone can assist.
Thanks.

Hmmm. HTML formatting doesn't appear to be working, at least not on my system

Open View → Synthesizer and turn down its master volume.

Thanks for the reply, but is there not a GLOBAL way to do it rather than having to do it for each and every file? Surely there must be a simple "enable/disable internal synth" somewhere?

The Synthesizer is not score specific.

But if I load a file, turn off the synth or more to the point delete it by deleting the soundfont, exit the program (without saving the file) and restart MuseScore the soundfont is back again.
Likewise, if I do the same thing but with the volume bar for the synth then if I exit (without saving) the volume is back to its default level.
Is there an apply / save option I may be missing?

There is that "set as default" button in the synth, which becomes active as soon as you turn down the volume slider..

That's what I've missed then. I'll find that tomorrow when I go back on my system. Too late now.
Thanks for all your help and bearing with me while I try to comprehend! Darn meds!
