Blank Score

• Nov 20, 2021 - 07:54

It seems like I'm not the only person to have had this issue and variations of this have been ongoing for years - I have read through RickyRickster's forum on this subject as well as Phillip Foster's, however my problem seems to be slightly different. But Musescore 3(.6.2) decided to crash and prompted me to close the software. When I opened the score back up again it was fine by when I tried to close Musescore again it asked me if I wanted to save, and when I did the score would open up blank as presented below. There doesn't seem to be a backup file available and when I attempted the 7zip solution it replied with an error message. I'm not great with file behavior and programming, etc., So any clarification on how to solve this issue would be appreciated.

You cannot solve the blank file - it is a blank file. You can guard against this situation in future by saving your file frequently and by making backup copies with different names +/- in different places. If your operating system has links to cloud storage you should look there to see if a previous copy remains.

Yes, sorry.

Also not sure if this will help, but here's an earlier pdf of the original score prove that there was something there (the File properties also show that the score was created on an earlier date). The most recent version adds around 15 measures or so that I can't remember at the top of my head so it would be nice to have a workaround. The windows file path mentioned on your link seems to be unlocatable. Anything else I can try?
