mixer/synthesizer question

Hi,
After searching for a song on the desktop browser I wanted to listen to just 1 or the 2 parts in order to play along.
So I hit the mixer button and it says in order to turn off one part, I need to enable the synthesizer.

But when I do that, no sound plays at all.
How do I fix this please?
